We drive west into the barren, desolate, and eerily Egyptian Western Desert. A vast landscape covering some 2.8 million sq km. A region dotted with isolated oases and remote settlements that were formally the bustling routes between Africa and the Mediterranean. Explore the White and Black deserts by 4x4 jeeps to discover moon-like rocky surfaces with curiously shaped rocks.
Our (your) first stop takes us to Baharya Oasis famous for its fresh delicious dates and golden sand. A scenic drive to Farafra Oasis takes us through white and black deserts where we will visit the Crystal Mountains, an outcrop consisting of quartz crystals strewn across the sand and chunky black rocks formed by volcanic eruptions in the Black Desert.
We spend the last night camping (with the hospitable Bedouin people) in the white desert under the breathtaking vast starry sky.
