Day 1: Cairo - Meet and Assist at Airport. Transfer to Hotel.

  • Arrival to Cairo, Meet and assist and transfer to Cairo Hotel.
  • Overnight in Cairo.

Day 2 : Departure from Cairo towards Kharga Oasis. Camp in White Desert.

  • Breakfast at Hotel.
  • Departure from Cairo early morning towards Dakhla Oasis.
  • Camp in the White Desert.
  • Day Include Lunch and Dinner.

Day 3: Drive to Bir Tarwafi. Camp in the Desert.

  • Breakfast at Hotel.
  • Leaving Dakhla early morning after breakfast, driving southwards to the Bir Tarwafi. After crossing the Tropic of the Cancer, we will leave the road and civilization behind for the next 9 days. Camping in the desert.
  • Day Include Lunch and Dinner.

Day 4: Head towards Uweinat, Gigantic Mountain Area. Camp in the Desert.

  • Breakfast in Camp.
  • We are on our way to Jebel Uweinat a gigantic mountain area, which is split between Egypt, Sudan and Libya. In prehistorical times, people had enough water sources to live here and left thousands of rock paintings behind. Today the region is totally abandoned. We are passing the Black hills, Beacon hill and Jebel Kamil and will camp in the area of Peter and Paul, two extinct volcanoes.
  • Camping in the desert.
  • Day Include Lunch and Dinner.

Day 5: Arrive at Uweinat Mountains. Horseback Riding in the Desert. Camp in the Desert.

  • Breakfast in Camp.
  • Arrival to Jebel Uweinat and Wadi Karkur Talh. While our Egyptian crew will build up the camp, we will walk some hours into Wadi Karkur Talh in order to see some ancient rock paintings.
  • Camping in the desert.
  • Day Include Lunch and Dinner.

Day 6: Departure from Uweinat towards Gulf Kebir. Camp in the Desert.

  • Breakfast in Camp.
  • We are leaving Jebel Uweinat and taking direction to the Gulf Kebir, which is a gigantic plateau in the size of Switzerland.. Prince Kamal Eldin, the son of the Egyptian king Farouk has discovered the Gilf in 1925. We will see the Kamal ed-Din Monument in the middle of no where, which his friend and admirer, Ladislaus Almasy (English patient of the movie) has installed in 1934. We drive along the western side of the Gilf Kebir until we reach Wadi Sura.
  • Camping in the desert.
  • Day Include Lunch and Dinner.

Day 7: Visit the cave of the swimmers. Approach Aqaba pass. Camp in the Desert.

  • Breakfast in Camp.
  • We visit the cave of the swimmers with the rock paintings of the tiny little human beings swimming in one of the most arid areas of the world today. (English Patient movie is showing these swimmers in the beginning.) Driving further north we will find more paintings, stone tools, hand axes and grinding stones of prehistorical times. Back to Wadi Sura, we are passing by Almasy'ASAs landing place in the desert, marked by some old fuel containers. Almasy was a spy for the Germans in the Second world war. We are approaching the Aqaba Pass.

Day 8: Drive to the legendary Oasis of Zarzora. Camp in the Desert.

  • Breakfast in Camp.
  • Driving up the steep Aqaba pass to the Gilf plateau. We are crossing a part of the plateau until we are reaching Wadi Abdel Malik, the legendary oasis of Zarzora, mentioned in uncounted Beduoin tales and rediscovered through Almasy. Here are still growing some Acacia trees, although the region has dried out a long time ago.
  • Camping in the desert.
  • Day Include Lunch and Dinner.

Day 9: Drive East through Wadi Mashi. Camp in the Desert.

  • Breakfast in Camp.
  • From Wadi Abdel Malik we drive onto the eastern Gulf Kebir to Wadi Mashi. We are leaving the Gulf through Wadi Mashi, driving eastwards.
  • Camping in the desert.
  • Day Include Lunch and Dinner.

Day 10: Drive through Sand Dunes. Head to Mud Pans Region. Camp in the Desert.

  • Breakfast in Camp.
  • Driving through numerous sand dunes to the region of the so called Mud Pans.
  • Camping in the desert.
  • Day Include Lunch and Dinner.

Day 11: Arrival at Mud Pans. Visit the Famous Pottery Hill. Overnight at Hotel in Dakhla.

  • Breakfast in Camp.
  • Visiting Mud Pans, a geological formation. From here we drive on to the famous pottery hill, called Abu Ballas, "father of the jars". 5000 years ago water jars, dating to the time of the Old Kingdom of Egypt, were left here behind and we don't know until today from whom and for what purpose. 120 more km to the asphalt road, which is bringing us back to Dakhla.
  • Overnight in Hotel.
  • Day Include Lunch and Dinner.

Day 12: Drive from Dakhla to Cairo. Overnight in Cairo.

  • Breakfast at Hotel.
  • Drive from Dakhla to Cairo.
  • Overnight in Cairo.

Day 13: Day tour, visiting the Great Pyramids, Sphinx and Giza.

  • Breakfast at the Hotel.
  • This morning you visit the Great Pyramids of Giza and the 5000 year old Sphinx. Proceed to visit the ruins of the ancient capital of Egypt, Memphis. At Sakarra you visit the step Pyramid of Zoser, representing a staircase to heaven.
  • Over night in Cairo.
  • Day includes Lunch and Dinner.

Day 14: Transfer to Cairo International Airport.

  • Breakfast at Hotel.
  • Transfer to Cairo International Airport.
